Do you have a bounty hunter metal detector??
If you want you could post here of what you have?

Do you have a Pinpointer?
If so you could post here of what kind it is.

Also, if you want, you can tell if you like your detector or not and maybe just tell some of you finds! :D:trink:

I had a Quick Draw II.

I think it is like a Pioneer 202.

It was a coin magnet. I have gone through several sense then and can tell you that that QD II would hold it's own with much more expensive units.

They are great for learning also.

If I could have, I would have kept all my old detectors.

They all did the same thing.

They lit a fame that slowly became a raging desire to know more.

Happy Hunting,

Well I started out with a Bounty Hunter 1000, then a RS 1100 and I found quite a bit of stuff with them. They weren't the deepest but did an nice job to get me started. I went to a Titan 3000 and it was actually a pretty good machine. Found quite a bit on sports field 7" down and a 1900 Large Penny at about 9". Same with the RS3300. Don't care what people said about that machine after RS ran then on sale for $99. I think a lot of people were shocked at that machines abilities.

I have a freind that uses a mid line Bounty Hunter and he would embarrass about anyone with his finds over a years time. His record for a days hunt is a tad over $30.00. But a $12-15 day hunt isn't unusual for this guy using a BH. I joke with him that if he had a good machine he could triple is finds.

He says he has a very capable machine and has learned what its saying. I think thats the case with even $1000+ machines. If you don't know what the machine is saying and don't learn it you aren't going to find what Joe Blow with a $150.00 machine is going to find.

I broke out my old 1100 last year for the heck of it. Went to a large park and was surprised at how much clad I found with it. Infact I was pretty tired of picking out all those pennies 2-3" deep that everyone seem to leave behind. I think I brought home about 53 coins that day. Not bad for a $99 machine and a $15 set of headphones.

hello all. the bh pioneer 202 i have is a beast. there must be an extra circuit board in there. i bought it primarily out of curiosity, after my white's went down. there was a time not so long ago bh had a bad rep, but i can assure you sir, that is no longer the case. i've embarassed several minelab and white's users. they all made the mistake of getting snobby with me and the machine out in the field. needless to say, i'm not the one who got smoked on those days. they all got a spanking, and now one of the guys owns a bh.

sure, the pioneer 202 is an ugly machine, but nice lines and paint schemes don't find old coins and relics. people can say whatever they want, but my 202 is here to stay. it paid for itself within the first two months of use. i've always believed that it's more about the man/ woman knowing their machine and deciding what to dig that counts. i occasionally pull it out the closet. it's a good backup for now. but for 200 bucks, i got a great machine that has more than paid for itself. hh,

I love the fast trackers. Many people didn't know how to set them after buying them at Wally World-and since I work there-I would explain it to them, as the instructions don't really tell how. For those who care to get the perfect setting where nickels give a low tone, tabs a mixed tone, and coins a high tone-read on. First, turn the disc level nearly off(all the way to the left). Then, take a nickel, making sure there are no rings or jewelry on your scanning hand. Begin waving the nickel back and forth while rotating the disc knob higher(to the right). It will start out as a high tone, then a mixed tone, and finally STOP when it is a solid low tone-you're set! Now, nickels will give a low tone, tabs a mixed, and coins a high tone. What most people don't know about this machine is that it is high-tone dominant. What that means is you can run the coil over a PILE of tabs and get a mixed tone-but slide a zincer, dime, or quarter in that pile and you will get a hightone. Also, you can Hide a dime under a Pile of nickels and the high tone will come thru- while 4-5 nickels by themselves give a low tone! Most modern notch detectors will reject this as a tab! You can just about tell what the target is like just by listening to this detector. I call my $59 Wally World special Chicken Little, as it sounds like a chicken "clucking" when over a tab. I'm positive the high-tone dominant theory(as I call it) is the reason this detector finds more coins than others-unless they dig a lot of trash. Thanks for the time.

I started out with Tracker IV in 2003.   Really got pretty good with it before I moved on to more complex machines.    I bought another one toward the end of last year after the DD coil came out.   Nice machine and I still enjoy using it as does my wife.   Doesn't go very deep in my ground but still fun to use.

If you get a chance to use that DD coil Fisher released for the F4, you should give it a go.   It will fit all the bounty hunter machines and the increased ground coverage and faster response makes quite a difference.   You'll lose about a 1" to 1-1/2" in depth as compared to the 8" concentric but the plusses make up for it.

Good luck to all,

Mike

I've got 2 BH T4'S, love them to bits. Have found so much coins and jewelery with them in the last 2 yrs it's amazing. I recommend them for newbies, as the ease of use is fantastic. I will never part with mine, sure I own other detectors, but for the dry beach sand and tot lots they are my weapon of choice! Thanks to GrayGhost for the invite to join this forum! HH regards Nugget.:)

I can't imagine how great the trackers would have been during the '70's. For those who have the circuitry in one form or another. To set the disc-take a NICKEL in a free hand (with NO jewelry on) and wave it in front of the coil w/disc control at it's lowest and begin to rotate it higher. The nickel will give a high tone at first, then a mixed tone, and finally a low tone-STOP! at the first complete low tone level.  U R set! Now nickels give a low tone, tabs a mixed tone, and coins a high tone. Even if you are a beep-dig afficianado you will enjoy. The curious thing about the trackers-three or four nickels touching each other gives a low sound-slide a dime UNDER them and you get a high tone-the same results w/pile of tabs-mixed tone alone, but high tone w/coin slipped under. Many notch detectors show these targets as TAB! So, if you find a coin spill w/mixed items, you WILL find it because of this feature-you won't get a tab response. It's like having an ID meter in your ears:shock::D, as some tabs will have more low tone-others (square tab) more high tone- but both will be mixed. A corroded zincer will almost sustain the high but  have a low tone tail that just can be barely heard. Well, I gotta stop-sorry for the long post.:music:

I have a Sharpshooter and a Bounty Hunter pinpointer.  Really enjoy detecting, been doing it since January this year.  Hit a local beach on the lake today, till the heat chased me home. Found about $4.87 in clads, all new.

I have a Quick Draw II and vibraprobe 560. Also have a White's DFX, but will always have a soft spot in my heart for my QDII.

i have had several BH's.  presently i have a tracker iv and love it.  i have only had it for a little over 3 weeks and it has paid for itself 2 times over.  i found a mens gold ring with 3 black stones in the center and 6 small diamonds on each side.  i found a small childs silver ring today with about 2 dollars in change.  the other day i went out and at one part i found 19 quarter, 29 dimes and 3 nickles and i did not count the pennies.  i use a whites PP which i have had for the last 4 years.  had to replace the push button.
