Hey There,
I work for a TV production company in LA and we’re teaming up with a cable network to create a TV series about hunting and exploring.  We’re looking for hosts to front the show and are hoping some of you might be interested in participating.

We’re looking for charismatic explorers or groups of treasure hunters that want to share their skill and passion with a wide audience.

We’re still developing the series and want our host/s to have a voice in that process. So let me know if you’re interested.  I can tell you a lot more about our company and the series.  Look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks so much!
Heather

Larry Simpson is the man your looking for. He's the owner of this forum and a real good"down home" guy! if you want to contact him, his number is at the top of this board. He also has singing experience.
The other guy is Dan Hughes .He has a by-monthly Pod Cast and was written a few book and many articles in all the metal detecting magazines. His Web Site can be googled and if i'm not mistaken It's Danhughes .com
Both of these guys are well known in the metal detecting community.

Steve Zazulyk is definitely someone you should pursue, he’s my brother in-law and this guy is amazing. He's like being around a nuclear power plant. Top adventurer, Ironman, climb Mount Washington −60 type guy. He has done on air work so he is very natural behind the camera and people are very drawn to his personality. He lives in Oakville Ontario.

It seems that heather contacted Dan Hughes! Hear about what happened in Dan's Pod Cast.

It seems that Heather is not the only one that is "casting" for this type of show.  With success of shows like Gold Rush, Bearing Sea Gold, American Pickers, Storage Wars . . . the list is quite long . . . it seems that there are plenty of people looking for the next big hit.

Over the past 18 months I have had 6 different people contact me with the same request . . . "I am casting / preparing a show on treasure hunting and need a host" and despite spending a good deal of time discussing options and possible ideas as well as providing books and other material, not one has ever gone past that point.  As many of you know, I write for Lost Treasure Magazine and they have received similar calls with identical results.

It seems that the way it works is people hoping to become producers of these hit reality series shows gather information and then shop the idea hoping someone picks it up and funds it.

With gold hitting record process and the other shows being as hot as they are, there are many would-be producers looking to hit that next mother lode but after the 3rd or 4th request and spending a good deal of time talking to the person and recommending others to talk to, I became a little jaded as more requests came in and nothing ever came out of it - not as far as being a host but simply the show never was picked up.

I'd like to see a show on treasure hunting go national as there have been several over the years that I have enjoyed watching but before you take a call or E-mail from someone hoping to get "green-lighted" as a signal that the next star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame will have your name on it, ask the person that contacts you if they have a commitment for a show or are simply doing homework to develop a pitch for a yet-to-be named network . . . base your investment of time on the response you receive.
