                 hi dave, nice dollar you have there. but.... is that an "s" mintmark that i spied just above and between the d and o of dollar on the back? that will be the mintmark - made in san francisco.

If I'm not mistaken and I could be because it's been a long time since reading about the morgan dollar, I think the Carson and New Orleans are the most valuable. But really cool coins! I have one and won't let it go either.;)

on todays market that dollar is worth about $30 in silver melt with a slight premium because it is a morgan and in nice condition. I remember finding several of them at a flea market a few years back and paying $5 a piece for them. the guy, who was disposing of an estae, was clueless and I bought the last 3 he had.
