I am getting back at you young guys and your quick hunts. Man, I don't even get my headphones on before you guys are done and gone home.
I did a tot lot this morning and followed behind some guy that didn't fill his holes. (fill your holes even though it is sand, you low down lily livered back stabbing varmint). I could tell he hit all the hot spots pretty fair. I wondered just how good this guy was? The results: 41 coins left behind. I hope I can get a picture in here? Moral: The guy in front of you doesn't get it all... Z

| Great stories. I love those. Like TD I was young and smart and watching this old guy swinging this BIG BUD detector. Of course there I am with my Compass X100 showing how it is supposed to go old man. In a few hours we got together to compare. He had so many coins he could hold them. I had just a small hand full. He said slow down and listen. And the greatest tip ever, when you find a coin stop and circle around it. I use a full arm swing and 1/4 steps around the found coin. I bet almost 80% of the time there are other coins around. The world set up for the young, right handed person but it takes us older poops to slow them up so they enjoy it. Z

Thanks for all the great replies.
All I know when I see a place where the holes are not filled in I know he is a very sloppy detectorist. I will be finding stuff he missed.
I also watch of mders and I am amazed that they find anything. Some do the pendulum swing a foot off the ground racing across the beach with no digging tool. They are there for 20 min. and they are gone. I see guys with shower shoes on a can of soda in one hand no hat on or digging tool and no headphones.
I guess they do not take it as serious as I do. To each his own...Z

Enjoyed all the stories from you long time MD'rs,
I can relate to it all, my fave trick is the slow circle round the previous find.
Learned a lot from Uncle Willy's hints n tips.
BTW, Welcome to all the new guys I missed when they started here, I'm not rude, just slow at everything.
We're coming up for 2 years at it in Sept-Oct and never do short hunts.
(what's that?) With friendly greetings, Ian n Eileen
