Hello Everyone!
I'm going to go to a local dealer here soon and buy the bigger coil for my new 250. I'm starting to worry because I hardly did any research and all I want is better depth. Did I do good, or am I making the biggest mistake?
Thanks for looking,
ATC

| You will get more depth with the larger coil. Been thinking about getting one for mine, let me know how it works.

Hiya ATC1997,
We wish you a very warm to our forum.
You made a good choice of machine, don't worry on that score.
I can assure you the 9x12 coil does get a good 2-3 inches more depth.
We hunt beaches and with the stock coil 6.5 x 9 inch we were getting a max depth of 8-9 inches, with the bigger coil our average depth is 9-12 inches.
But on occasion going for iffy signals we have lifted at 14-15 inches.
Don't count on findin' stuff regular at that sorta depth.
With friendly greetings,
Ian n Eileen.

ATC you probably have your coil and have some hunts under your belt. So how is it doing? When I am out on the beach there is a fellow with a 250 and 12" coil on it. He sure can cover a lot of ground with it. Maybe you have posted in the Garrett forum? But lets here how it is working for you with the 12" coil... Thanks and Happy Trails....Z
